How to set up a Metamask wallet

MetaMask is a secured and free browser extension wallet that can interact with the Ethereum blockchain. The following steps will guide you to install MetaMask on your browser.

1. You need to install the extension first. MetaMask is supported by Chrome, Firefox, Brave and Opera.

   • Open https://metamask.io/ on your browser.

⚠️ DO NOT GOOGLE SEARCH METAMASK, there are many malicious links impersonating MetaMask.

. Click "Download" and pick the browser you want to install MetaMask (for example Chrome)

Click preferred browser to install MetaMask (example Chrome extension).

Click "Add to Chrome."

Click "Add Extension."

2. The next step is to create an account

• a. Click on the MetaMask widget/icon in the upper right corner of your browser to open it.

• b. Accept the privacy notice, terms of use, and phishing warning.

3. Create a new password.

• It is recommended to use a secured password consisting of a combination of uppercase and lower-case letters, numbers and symbols.

Confirm your password and click create.

4. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: a secrete backup phrase will be created for you.

• Write it down. Store it in a safe place where it will not be lost, stolen or damaged.

DO NOT SAVE IT ON YOUR COMPUTER, PHONE, OR TAKE A PICTURE OF IT.

• You will have to confirm the secrete backup phrase by selecting the correct word order.

• If the confirmation/word order is correct, you will be able to click on CONFIRM, and your wallet has been created.

⚠️ NEVER, EVER store your secret phrase (a.k.a. seed phrase) on your computer/devices where hackers can access it. Do not share it with anyone.
